James Nickerson: Marketing
James (Jim) started his marketing and communications career "running tapes" at CNN during the Gulf War, and has been communicating ever since. Jim is currently the Head of Digital Marketing for Bauerware.
In addition to extensive corporate communications and marketing experience, Jim spent three years as the Social Media manager for the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus, the largest and first chorus of its kind. Jim built SFGMC’s program from scratch and created a fully robust social media platform, now modeled by other arts organizations around the world. He speaks at national conferences about the power of communications and social media advocacy.
Jim believes in a "Less Is More" strategy when it comes to Digital and Social Media Marketing. Learning how to get the most done with limited resources and capacity, and looking fabulous while doing it, is at the core of his marketing strategies.
He has also worked at Weber Shandwick's SF/SV offices. Dynamic Signal, Symantec, Accenture, SFGMC, The National AIDS Memorial Grove, Academy of Friends and for Special Olympics in Washington, D.C. Born in New York, he has lived in San Francisco, very close to Bauerware! Likes include long walks on the beach, keyless entry systems and puppies. Dislikes include mean people, bad knob and pull choices in friends’ homes and singing minor thirds.
